ABOUT

About

Blue Benders emerged from Stockholm’s vibrant blues scene and, since their formation in 2021, have established themselves as one of Sweden’s most exciting live acts. With a dynamic blend of blues, rock, soul, and funk, the band has received several accolades, including Band of the Year and Live Act of the Year at the Bluespodden Awards in both 2023 and 2024. They also achieved an impressive 2nd place (out of 21 acts) in the international competition European Blues Challenge 2024.

The band’s journey began when guitarists Edvin and Morris started exploring the local music scene in Gamla Stan, Stockholm. With vocalist Samson joining them, the sound began to take shape, and when drummer Oskar and bassist Johan completed the lineup, the pieces fell into place. The result is a musical cocktail where each member’s influences have room to breathe, driven by a curiosity for musical landscapes beyond traditional blues.

Following the release of their debut EP Strike One in the fall of 2023 - celebrated with a sold-out show in Stockholm - 2024 brought notable performances at Stockholm Pride and Debaser Strand. In 2025, leading up to the release of their debut album, Blue Benders played their first shows across Europe, bringing their electrifying sound and strong stage presence to international audiences and creating memorable nights for new listeners.

Do Not Apologize - Blue Benders’ debut album - is a love letter to music itself and to the joy of exploring new sounds. Building on what they already love, the band created Do Not Apologize (or D.N.A.) as a reflection of their shared and individual influences.

The result is a dynamic and engaging listening experience that seamlessly blends rock, blues, soul, and pop. Fearless in their experimentation, Blue Benders weave genres together to express the emotions they want to convey. Beneath the energetic sound lies a vulnerable core. Through themes such as family, insecurity, mental health, love, and hate, Blue Benders reveal their most honest and exposed selves. Without ever forgetting their roots or the foundation they built upon, Blue Benders invite the listener to stand firm, be proud of who they are and what they love - and never feel the need to apologize for it.
